On 21st October 2023, eight OGs and two guests visited the Long Man Brewery at Church Farm in Litlington for a tour and tasting. Our guide explained that the brewery started in 2012, after the farm ceased being a dairy farm. There was an urgent need for a new revenue stream.

Great emphasis was placed on the local links, with the water being obtained from a borehole on site and all the barley also grown on the farm. The Long Man, after whom the Brewery is named, is also on Church Farm land.

We were shown the complete process from initial mixing of barley with water through to the filling of the casks. The Brewery now supplies over 500 pubs and clubs in the South of England, and they have won national and international awards for their beers.

The tour was completed by an enjoyable tasting of four very different beers, accompanied by a detailed description of how the differences are achieved. Our guide provided a very interesting and informative tour.
